This year, food lovers were rewatching viral TikTok videos and recreating three-ingredient recipes for easy comfort foods. Today, we’re covering some of this year’s biggest trends, from Dubai chocolate to cottage cheese. Here is a recap:
DUBAI CHOCOLATE
Infused with gold leaf and pistachios, Dubai chocolate is internationally recognised as an experience. It all started when British-Egyptian entrepreneur Sarah Hamouda was craving knafeh, a Middle Eastern dessert, while she was pregnant. In 2021, Hamouda brought her vision to Chef Nouel Catis, who created the recipe for this game-changing dessert. The demand for Dubai chocolate increased after influencer Maria Vehara’s tasting video of Fix Dessert Chocolatier’s Dubai chocolate received 100M+ views. Shake Shack’s limited-time Dubai Chocolate Pistachio Shake was a big hit in NYC!
DUMPLING BAKES
What do you get when gourmet dumplings meet casserole vibes? Dumpling bakes! This dish became more popular as the cozy dinner hack that helps get rid of those hunger pangs after a long day of work. Today, we’re highlighting one video that effectively uses the one-pan technique to infuse a range of bold flavours into one of the best five-minute food creations.
COTTAGE CHEESE
Cottage cheese became a protein-packed superstar on social media and TikTok. Influencers constantly used cottage cheese in savoury and sweeter dishes, like flatbreads and ice cream. The most-searched recipe of 2025 was the Hot Honey Cottage Cheese Sweet Potato Beef Bowl, which took over FoodTok. This dish combined several trends, including the “swicy” (sweet-and-spicy) craze and high-protein foods such as cottage cheese.
