Swedish chef Marcus Jernmark is receiving major recognition as an acclaimed restaurateur. His high-end L.A. eatery, Lielle, is gaining strong momentum four months after its grand opening. Here’s the scoop:
Located at 9575 W. Pico Blvd, Lielle has a $150 seasonal four-course menu highlighting regional ingredients in California.
The first course is artichoke and citrus, with black truffles, pine, guanciale, and roasted yeast vinaigrette. The second course, an abalone “BBQ”, includes seaweed rice, Brussels sprouts, and a fermented sauce. The third course is an aged Californian squab, which is served with yuzu pepper and walnut miso. There are two options for the fourth course: iced sea buckthorn with milk and honey or challerhocker cheese with honeycomb and Danish rye bread. (This menu changes on a seasonal basis.)
Lielle also has a selection of wines, which match the highest quality of its food and reflect this eatery’s invigorating spirit.
“We’re proud and excited to be part of one of the world’s finest wine regions. To celebrate this, we’re dedicating ourselves to serving and sharing California wines. We believe these wines match the energy of our cooking and the ingredients we use.” – LIELLE
Like Gordon Ramsay, Jernmark is establishing his brand as a restaurateur with hospitality, strong work ethic, and panache. In fact, Jernmark spent seven years refining his skills at Stockholm’s legendary Frantzén. With three Michelin stars, Frantzén remains near the top of the World’s 50 Best list.
Now, with its first Michelin star, Lielle is raising the bar for fine dining in the Pico-Robertson neighbourhood. Lielle‘s rapid ascent also marks a significant shift, expanding the geography of fine dining beyond Beverly Hills and West Hollywood.
